I screwed up, I admit it.
More changes!
The web series wound up being a lot more work than planned, and now college work is starting to creep up on me.
But I'm not quitting. Not just yet.
In fact, if anything, I want to step things up.
I just spent the last couple hours extensively working on my room so that I can work.
Purpletrauma is no longer my "video production site, AKA, one idiot working out of his room" it is now the homepage for my personal projects.
For now the change wont be noticeable except I'm a bit more open that the show is a lot of work, and I need to focus on college.
However, perhaps in a month or two, I will start new projects of other interests.
The most central of which will be open-source open-platform indie games. Nothing special; I just wanted to make games like that.
Another will be comic series because, well, I like drawing and want to increase my skills, but I'm finding that I have trouble increasing my skills without a project, so.. hey: a Animal Crossing comic series!
Ponies are not by far my only interests; just the biggest fandom base I've gotten involved with. I also like hard sci-fi, vulgar jokes (if done tactfully and aren't just being an asshole and considering it okay because you think of it as a joke), and video games.. oh so many video games.. but gaming videos are over done, so that's why I'm doing a bit of a comic.. it's not even a "webcomic" series, but a comic. It will have a planned arc, and a planned end.
Point being it's not going to be random jokes popped into my head.. in fact at this early stage it's looking like it'll be a slice-of-life story. For now I'm keeping a diary of a new Animal Crossing village and will use that as the main framework for the story I will tell in the end after I decide I've played enough...
As for the game.. I'm not sure what I will do just yet. It would be best to start with simple practice projects, but I explicitly want to do something original; not just another generic, poorly made platformer or one of millions of puzzle game clones..
I am currently thinking of a text adventure game with a GUI interface; the main reason is because I will set it in the same universe as a future project, allowing me to EXTENSIVELY develop the world and backstory of a future project while honing the skills necessary to make it work..
I need to plan an itinerary for what projects I'll do when, but for now.. that's how this is going. I'm dropping all pretense of trying to treat my home-video camcorder and cheap equipment like a small studio and use this website to push my personal projects forward. Expect more blogs to pop up by 2013..
I think I am going to take the next semester off.. I kinda need it.
