Coming along.

Things are coming along.

I seem to be improving.

The bronchitis I had when I was filming episode 1 has receded.

I'm more used to my equipment, and the software.

As I write the next script, which if it's done by Thursday evening I will try to film it Friday and get it out by Monday, maybe Wednesday..

Every other week is how these videos are starting to seem like they'll pan out.

More minor stuff hidden in long rants after the break;

Okay. I am getting more confident in the show again. The people I actually manage to get to watch it seem to like what they see, and as stated before, all my main problems seem to be with the cheap equipment and inexperience, more than anything I'm doing explicitly wrong or improperly.. and getting people to actually watch it; that has been a HUGE pain.

The inexperience will improve, hopefully people watching along with it, and the equipment will require me to be getting money from this show somehow.

I may have a Spreadshirt made soon, if only because it takes no effort, I have a couple t-shirt designs already prepared, and simply because I want one of them for myself, as well as a handful of people I know who would also want one.

I also have an idea for another web show. Something not pony related.

Everything I do was never going to be explicitly pony related; I'm just trying to use Equestria Weekly as a jumping off point for doing videos. I always planned on moving into other review style web shows, and eventually try my hand at doing more regular show style web shows.. if I could think of something.

The next show is something I want to do because it would take less effort, and with a bit of effort I could probably churn an episode out in a day, even at this level.

The format will work much like Equestria Weekly; just a different theme, and I only do one topic a video so that it takes a fraction of the effort. Instead of MLP:FiM things, I would talk about online entertainment in general: Filmcow, James Rolfe, The Brother Chaps, Doug Walker, Noah Antwiler, Sausage Productions, Team4Star, Happy Harry, Egoraptor, Red Letter Media, SMBC Theatre, Epic Meal Time, Regular Ordinary Swedish Meal Time.. groups and people who generally have their own cult following, small to large, but I know a few people who don't know how to find these sort of things and always enjoy seeing what new treat I have for them.

Similar principal as EqW, really.

Y'see; one of the main reasons I started EqW is because I have, so many times now, explained the bronies to people.. mostly women curious about my shirt, though there are a few guys who are floored and find it awesome just because I'm walking around with colorful equines on my shirt.

The way I generally respond is to give them a sequence of links that would get them the best and fastest idea of the bronies; Equestria Daily and Derpy Hooves News usually.

So.. thinking I could help talk about and spread around the information more easily, I started this webshow. After all; not all bronies have been in this fandom for a year and a half, so I figured there would be some appeal in the bronies, and people who just want to see a bit about what the bronies are, and their scope.

.. and yes, I also went into this wanting to try to earn money. The economy is terrible, and where I am stuck at right now in particular. You need years of experience just to get a job that will pay $500 a month before firing you three months later. They do this because this is a college town; the local economy and businesses are geared towards having all these people in and out.

This actually happens with even more jobs around here than you'd think would make sense. It's purely luck to get any job, and then there's the secondary issue of that I don't care much about spare cash: I want to rent my own place, and even in a really cheap to live place like here ($1k-$1.5k a month to rent a house, pay utilities, keep yourself in food) and you can't live off of those sort of jobs ($500 a month, if they give you better hours than average.)

So, uh... I am desperate here. And of all my interests, this is the only one I can actually do something with. Not much, and with a LOT of frustration and hassle, but I can do it. Just about all of my other interests I need to move into my own place before I have the space, privacy, and time to actually do my hobbies and interests beyond just what I browse on the internet and play off a disc.

Though.. I admit, once I saw how clearly amateur the first couple videos were, I was no longer comfortable thinking about t-shirts and seeing if I can do a Kickstarter to raise enough that it would allow me to rent my own place for awhile, buy better equipment, and afford me to put more time and effort into the videos I make..

I've decided to drop pushing that for the most part; if a lot of people start following, and I can actually promise something as an incentive for the Kickstarter beyond that it would help me make the show better faster, then I will consider that again.

I do actually want to do other series, and eventually indie films even. I have some ideas. There is a lot I want to do, if I can make this jumping in point work.

Sorry for rambling.. I do that... a lot.. I have already deleted many messages for being too rambling, and some didn't really accomplish anything and had no point.. and removed about a page worth of writing from this message because it served no purpose except to explain things in far too much detail.

The point of this message: the next episode is looking good, I am getting the hang of this quickly, I have another non-brony show coming; if you like EqW, please help the show spread around and get exposure. I've decided to not self-promote beyond just telling individual people who I think might be interested, and a single image board post asking for input and opinions.
